Dodger Stadium

Just got back from Dodger Stadium. Took Casey there, for the first time. For those of you who haven't heard, Dodger Stadium isn't exactly the safest place in town these days. It's not quite as bad as Afghanistan, but you get the idea. All went well. We didn't get beaten or even threatened. Casey had a good time. His favorite part was whenever the crowd clapped. He likely didn't fully understand WHY people were clapping, he merely enjoyed clapping with everyone. Oh yeah, and he really enjoyed all the treats he got to eat. The Dodgers played the Brewers, who featured a player who was recently caught in a steroids controversy. Of course the Dodger crowd chanted 'Steroids' everytime he was at-bat. Casey turned to me and said, 'Daddy, what is steroids?'.... Being caught off guard, and thinking off the top of my head, I replied, 'Steroids make your pee-pee shrink'. Apparently, I said it kinda loud, during a lull in the action no less, cause people within 3 rows fore and aft started cracking up.

The Wang Dynasty(s)

Back in 2010, Casey served as Emperor. Alas, his dynasty ended, and now, in 2012, Sydney is currently ruling. Here is a photographic comparison of their respective dynasties...

The Emperor

Just like California Proposition 28 addresses term limits, we have term limits in "Emperor-dom" here in the Wang household. The boys serve as Emperor until they outgrow the outfit! If you recall, older bro Casey's dynasty was back in '10. Sydney is currently ruling over his fiefdom now.

Little big boy

Sydney just had his 15 month doctor checkup. He's definitely healthy, checking in at a robust 28lbs, 10 oz (92 percentile), and 32.5 inches long (84 percentile). He was subjected to two shots, and he WASN'T HAPPY. In fact, he carried a grudge. After the doctor administered the shots Sydney wouldn't stop mad-dogging her for the rest of the visit. Anytime she moved around the exam room, Sydney's eyes followed her, staring daggers at her. Dude was not going to let her sneak up on him with that syringe...

The Magic Month of May

Two babies, both born on Feb. 3rd... Doing the math backwards, it appears that May is a magic month around the Wang household. If I even look at my wife during the month of May... bam.. prego!

Thus, I've decided to spend one hour each day in the month of May, soaking in the hot tub... Kill any of my little swimmers. Seems like an alternative to getting snipped...

Go Fetch

One of Casey's favorite activities these days is to get the morning newspaper. He considers it "His Job". He can be fully engrossed in a TV show but if we ask if he wants to get the paper, he jumps off the sofa, ready to do his job. If he is still in his pajamas, he gets to the garage, and says, 'I don't have shoes, carry me'. Last weekend, he brought Daddy the Sunday paper in bed. Our newspaper subscription only covers Thursday thru Sunday. As a result, Casey is learning is days of the week. He now knows Thursday means he has a job to do in the morning. And for those wondering, no, he does not carry the newspaper in his mouth...

You have a booger

Casey and I were swimming in the pool today when he looked at my nose and said, "You have a booger". I asked him to help and clean it. He replied, "I can't. I don't want to get my finger dirty!"

At least he's honest...

Yo.. Feed me, will ya?

Sydney is growing fast. And eating a lot. One of his favorite places is Soupplantation, where he can do some serious damage. He is all about finger foods. To him, pretty much everything is a finger food. Lay whatever on his placemat in front of him, and he'll pick it up and eat it. I recently learned, same goes for feeding him at home. Yesterday, we were having lunch, and I heated up these baby ravioli's. They come in these microwaveable bowls. Nuke for 30 seconds, drain the liquid and serve. I started out placing 4-5 of these mini ravioli's on his tray, and then tried to choke down some food of my own. About half way thru my first bite, Sydney was pointing, and b!tching at me to give him more. I soon realized that rationing his portions was useless, I finally dumped the entire bowl on his tray, and told him, "Have at it".. That at least bought me time to eat my sandwich... Soon enough though, he mowed thru the ravioli's.. and wanted more. So I heated up another batch, (different flavor) and dumped those on his tray as well.

Baseball

A few photos of the beginning of Casey's baseball career. Here are a few observations. Today, he batted left handed. Who know what this means; maybe he is a natural switch hitter. Sometimes, he chokes up on the bat, just like a singles contact hitter. Every once in a while, he'll take a full cut, and swing for the fences... But for the most part, he is a low power contact hitter, who keeps his eye on the ball and puts it into play.

Happy Mother's Day 2012

Casey played a big part in celebrating Mother's Day weekend 2012. He accompanied Daddy shopping to buy Mommy some treats. But, not only did he accompany, he carried the grocery basket, picked out the cake and loaded all the treats and carried them the whole time. When we got home, he helped bake a chocolate cake for Mommy. Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!!

Sydney did the best he could to help bake Mommy a Mother's Day cake... He supervised!

Another first

Just a quick and sweet post. Casey took a poop so big that it clogged the toilet. Time to get out the plunger. If he's anything like his daddy, this is the first of a lifetime of toilet-cloggers, so I thought I'd 'recognize the occasion" with a blog post. Thats all for now...
