So Sweet

Today, I wasn't feeling well and in bed taking an afternoon nap. Sydney was playing, and came into my room and asked for help. He wanted to play with his Legos, but the lego box was too heavy for him to carry. So I got out of bed, went downstairs and carried his lego box upstairs for him. 20 minutes later, he woke me up and asked if I could carry the box of matchbox cars upstairs for him. As I got downstairs, he was at the base of the stairs holding his wallet. He struggled to open it, and pulled out a wad of bills. He said, "Here Daddy, I'm going to give you some money's". I asked him why, and he said, "Because you helped me". He was about to hand me the stack, then he suddenly pulls it back and says, "That's too much".. He proceeds to thin out the stack, hands me four dollars and says, "Here's two money's". I counted out the four dollar bills one by one, and he takes one back and says, "There; that's two money's"...

Son, your gesture already made my day, I don't need your money...

Happy Birthday 2015!

Da boys recently celebrated a birthday, #'s 6 and 4 respectively. When asked months ago what they wanted for their bday, they responded, 'Legoland'... So we planned a trip to SD and Legoland. But first things first; we celebrated the birthday in stages. This year, the actual birthday fell on a Tuesday. That just happens to be a busy day; with YMCA tumbling classes and Casey's basketball practice. So, the celebrating started a day early. Da boys got to choose where they wanted to goto dinner. Of course the response was Soupplantation. In addition, since it was a special occasion, they got permission to eat as much dessert as they wanted. Sydney took full advantage. He ate one bowl of ice cream... and wanted more... he ate about 3/4 of his second bowl of ice cream, when he accidently dropped it on the floor. As daddy was picking up/ wiping up the mess, Sydney took one look at the floor, and calmly said, 'Now I have to start over'!

The celebration continued the next morning, when Da Boys had... Birthday Cupcakes for breakfast!!! Oh Boy... Later in the week, the celebrating continued with a birthday playdate at the park. and no, I could not get 12 kids to look at the camera at the same time...

SD 2-2015

We hadn't visited Nai Nai and Ye Ye in months. We had planned to go down to SD during Christmas time, but the sickness bug hit Da Wang family hard. Multiple family members were sick for the period between Thanksgiving and mid- Jan! Come February, we were finally healthy enough to travel.

Saturday morning, we attempted to go hiking in Mission Trails Park. It was a minor success, as Da Boys just weren't feelin' it, and complained a lot. Their mood perked up considerably when we left the park and ate lunch at Cotija Taco Shop. On Sunday, we had a family outing at Santee Lakes. Da Boys played in the playground, fed ducks and went on a pedal boat ride. After the lakes, Nai Nai and Ye Ye treated us to lunch at Hometown Buffet.

Meanwhile, Nai Nai and Da Boys had a blast playing some sort of game they made up!
Monday was LEGOLAND!!!
